My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rufus - a lovable companion with a bit of spunk and a whole lot of sweetness! This guy is crate-trained for nighttime and when you're out, though he's likely ready for more freedom since he's not a shredder or a chewer. He did have one night where he cried a little but soon settled in-he's all about finding his groove!

Rufus is the king of walks and struts proudly on his leash. House-trained? Absolutely! And while he's mostly quiet, he'll perk up if a squirrel dares to cross his path. He's great with other dogs and, though he hasn't had kid-time yet, his foster thinks he'd be just fine. Rufus loves to follow his people around, waiting for that perfect moment to cozy up on the couch, drape himself over your lap, and snooze the evening away. Carrying him? He's totally cool with it, and he's all charm when meeting new friends.

He may have a frosty face, but Rufus has plenty of pep and loves to stay active when you are. He'll happily keep an eye on things by the window and snooze the day away while you work. His favorite hobbies? Rolling around in the laundry and soaking in the great outdoors. Car rides and hikes? He's all in, with that adorable raspy bark that makes him sound like a mini-tough guy (though he rarely uses it)!

Rufus is perfect for someone looking for a loyal buddy who loves to be close, enjoys a lower-key vibe, and is always up for a snuggle. He's a heart-stealer ready to find his couch and his people!

Adopting from HEA

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS:
Adoption is a huge deal to us. We make a lifetime guarantee to our companions. In return, we’re asking you to provide a lifetime commitment once you’ve invited a pet to join your family. We’re excited that you're considering adoption. We look forward to working with you to find the right match!

TIMELINE:
Our primary objective is to assure the correct match for the people and the pets that we’re sending to their forever homes. Our goal is to send dogs and cats home as quickly as we can, while still being thorough. Processing times will vary and are largely dependent on our ability to connect with your references, landlord, and veterinarian. To keep the process moving along, please make sure you’ve done your part:
1) Fill out your application completely - missing information slows down the process.
2) Let your references know to expect our call.
3) If you rent, let your landlord know to expect our call.
4) If you currently have pets, ask your veterinarian to be prepared to release your records.

LIFETIME GUARANTEE:
We make a pact with every animal that enters our care: They’re promised a loving home for the rest of their life. In turn, when you make the commitment to adopt, we ask you to make a lifetime commitment. We believe family is forever.
