My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET BRUCE: The Perfect Canine Companion
Are you looking for a furry friend who is not only well-behaved but also incredibly loving and affectionate? Look no further than Bruce, a young Rottie mix. Bruce walks and heels very well, making him an ideal companion for those who love long walks and outdoor adventures. His leash manners are impeccable, and he always sits and waits patiently at curbs and doors, showing off his excellent training and obedience skills. Additionally, Bruce comes when called, ensuring that he stays close by your side at all times.

While Bruce may excel at basic commands, he is also a quick learner when it comes to more advanced tricks. He is currently in the process of learning to down, shake, off, roll over, and go to his designated place on command. Bruce is potty trained and crate trained too!

One of Bruce's most endearing qualities is his gentle and affectionate nature. He loves all animals and people, always eager to make new friends and spread positivity wherever he goes. Whether he is cuddled up beside you on the couch or following you around the house, Bruce is a loyal and devoted companion who always wants to be close to his human.

If you’re ready to welcome a wonderful companion into your life, Bruce is eager to meet you!November 19, 2024, 1:57 pm

Additional adoption info

All of our animals come fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered (if old enough), and microchipped. Puppies and kittens will be spayed/neutered and have all shots when they are old enough. There is an Adoption application, a quick phone interview to make sure it is a good fit, a meet and greet with the dog, then a home check, and an adoption contract. We ask for a $400 donation for adult dogs, and $500 for puppies at the time of adoption so that we can save other dogs from the shelter. The first step is to fill out an app here: https://thelittlereddog.org/adoption-form

More about this rescue

Dogs are man's best friend, but it is not always the other way around. The Little Red Dog was founded in memory of a little red American Pit Bull Terrier who did not make it. If you are familiar with the Michael Vick dog fighting case chronicled in The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption. The Little Red Dog was brutally beaten to death by Vick and his cronies because she didn't want to fight.

The Little Red Dog rescues dogs; red, blue, tan, white, brown, black and all colors in between. We do not discriminate against ANY breed; that's because we are a real rescue, and we will help as many animals as we can. Our primary goal is to get them into loving homes. Our hope that some day all of them make it, but most of all, we will never forget the Little Red Dog and many others who did not.
