My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Koda!
*His adoption fee is $450.00.
*He is believed to be a 10 month old Labrador Retriever mix.
*In his short life he has already had two owners.  This makes him a little distrustful of new people.
*Koda is very shy and will take some time to warm up.
*He is a big, playful puppy and very sweet.  Koda is just a teddy bear and cuddler once he is settled with you.
*Koda is potty trained.  He does walk on a leash but pulls.
*He will require a fenced yard and would not do well in an apartment setting.
*Any kids in the home need to be 10 years or older and understand personal space for Koda.
*Koda does well with other dogs and it would benefit him to have one in the home.
*This big guy needs a family that will take the time to be patient with him and be willing to work with him.
*Koda may take extra time to warm up to men rather than women.
*Please understand, in the 'Meet and Greet' times we set up, Koda may not be fully acclimated to someone in that 30 minute to 1 hour time.  He will need a family willing to adopt him, take him home, and allow him to fully integrate into the family and become comfortable with all members.
*Ruff House in Fort Wayne has offered free training and some doggie daycare days to Koda's adopter.
*Once he is acclimated to a new home, Koda will no doubt be loyal and affectionate with his new family!

*The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record. If you would like to adopt this very special K-9 kid, please go DIRECTLY to our website to complete our convenient Online Adoption Form.  Our website is www.perfectpawspetrescue.org cut and paste our web address into your browser to get to our site.  Email any questions to Tammy Crown at tlcrown09@yahoo.com or Jayne Sloan at jaynesloan@yahoo.com   NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.  Fort Wayne Indiana vicinity.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide a loving, safe, temporary home for dogs and puppies coming from unfortunate circumstances; be it a shelter, another rescue, or simply an individual that can no longer care for them. We will provide these animals with age appropriate vaccinations including DHLPP, Rabies(if old enough), and Kennel Cough. Our rescued dogs and puppies will be spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if old enough), wormed, on flea/tick prevention as well as heartworm prevention. We are dedicated to the placement of these neglected, abandoned, or otherwise unwanted dogs and puppies into loving, permanent homes. We also hope to educate on the value of spay/neuter in decreasing pet overpopulation along with proper animal care and responsibility.
