Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Lock
Hi I’m Lock! I’m approximately 3 months old and 15 pounds. I am a male mixed breed puppy but my mama and sister look Australian Shepherd/ Cattle dog/ or Catahoula.
My foster mom tells me I am very smart. I catch onto things quickly and sometimes without you even telling me. I absolutely love to be pet and will melt into you.
My foster mom also says I have quite the personality. I will keep you laughing will all the silly things I do.
I currently sleep in a crate with my foster sisters and sleep quietly all night. I do sometimes have accidents in the crate since I am still a puppy but I am slowly getting better with that.
I have not walked on a leash really yet since my foster mom has been protecting me from catching anything bad outside of the yard until I was old enough. However, I am so eager to learn that I’m sure I will catch on quickly to anything you teach me.
I am a puppy with a lot of energy. I will require someone who will allow me to get my puppy energy out. Once I get energy out, I am a very good boy who loves to nap and would love a lap to cuddle in every night.
I have not met cats. I have been in a home with 5 other dogs of all ages and do well with all of them. I try to respect what they tell me. I have also been around kids and do well with them!
If you’re looking for a sweet, loveable guy, then Lock may be the puppy for you!
Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

More about this rescue
We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.
The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.
Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.
While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.
We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
