My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courtesy post Meet Spots – A Lovable Goofball Ready for His Forever Home! Spots is a 4-year-old male pitbull who's the perfect mix of high-energy fun and snuggly couch potato. Weighing in at 65 pounds, Spots is an active dog who can hike for miles but also loves to sleep in and cuddle up on the couch. He’s got a goofy personality that will keep you smiling—he whines like a child, loves giving kisses, and has a soulful gaze that will melt your heart. Spots is a big fan of “sniffaris” (long walks where he gets to sniff everything), and he’s never met a vet or vet tech he didn’t adore! While he can get excited around new guests, he’s great at settling down. He knows plenty of commands and walks well on a leash (although he still pulls a bit). Give him a treat, and he'll do just about anything! While Spots is incredibly sweet and loyal, he does have a few quirks—he's dog-reactive to some dogs (though not all) and has a high prey drive, so he’d do best in a home without other pets or small children. Older kids would be fine, as he’s proven to be wonderful with them. His only health issue is the occasional seasonal skin allergy, but otherwise, he’s in great shape. A Special Plea from His Owners 'We’ve been lucky to have Spots as part of our family for nearly 4 years after rescuing him as a 6-month-old puppy. Sadly, due to the arrival of our first child, who has special medical needs, we’re unable to provide Spots with the care and attention he deserves. We’ve seen a regression in his training and increased reactivity to our newborn. With heavy hearts, we’re looking to rehome him in a safe, loving environment where he can thrive. Spots is healthy, neutered, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. He’s been a huge part of our lives, and we’re willing to pay any rehoming fee or make a considerable donation to ensure he finds the right home.' If you’re ready to give this one-of-a-kind, loving dog the life he deserves, please reach out. Spots will be an amazing companion for the right family! More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
