All of our cats are current on vaccines, combo tested (FIV/FELV) , spayed/neutered, microchipped, given rabies vaccine as age appropriate, flea treatment and dewormer as needed
Peaches, DOB 4/19/19, started with Cat Matchers as one of a litter of kittens. She was adopted out when she was under a year old. Over the few years her owners had her, they noticed she got less friendly. Sadly, they did not take her to the vet to get her checked out to make sure it wasn't physical. So, she was returned to Cat Matchers. On that fateful day of her return, a Cat Matchers volunteer picked her up from her owner and was heading home with her, when a freak accident occured with a semi truck, killing the volunteer and injuring/killing a few of the cats in the car (the volunteer was helping the SPCA with a cat transport that day). The microchip in Peaches was the reason that Cat Matchers found out about the wreck.
Peaches was so aggressive after the wreck. We had to put her in a home with a very experienced foster volunteer. Once the volunteer was able to gain Peaches' trust, she noticed that Peaches looked like she had something wrong with her mouth. We got Peaches into the vet dentist and they noticed she had an abcess and had to have 3 teeth removed. This is why she grew to be not friendly with her owners. She was in severe pain. The wreck just freaked her out mentally and luckily no injuries from that. Her foster home volunteers when she was with her siblings as a kitten said she was incredibly lovable.
Now that her dental work is done, she is super affectionate and seeks attention. She prefers to be the only cat in the home, getting all of your focus. She will "talk" to you.
