My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Andy Ramsay!

Andy Ramsay entered Orange County Animal Care as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on October 20 to become a Frosted Face.

Andy is about 10 years old and weighs 16 lbs. He is shy but sweet! Andy needs time to trust and feel safe, so we take things at his speed, such as petting. As you can see in the video, he is now enjoying having his head rubbed. Andy is good with the other dogs at FFF and was non-reactive during his cat test, even when the cat swatted at him!

Andy Ramsay is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what he is like in a home environment. His Fling Mom reports:

"Fling week 1 is in the books! Here is what I have learned about Andy Ramsey so far:

1. He loves attention and pets and will now jump in my lap on the couch and fall asleep. He doesn’t like his back legs touched and will flinch his legs and indicate he doesn’t like that.
2. He now lets me take his leash on and off no problem and gets excited to put it on as that means walkie time.
4. He is very smart.
5. He knows his name and the word come and will come when you call him.
6. He sleeps through the night and will wait for you to get up, but if he happens to need to go out he will come up to the bed and let you know.
7. No separation anxiety and no accidents in the house even when I was gone 10 1/2 hours! He is a perfect angel home alone and just sleeps in his bed.
8. He is a fast walker and likes a lot of exercise, would probably enjoy a running partner.
9. His go-to play is mouthing your hands and can get a little too excited but takes gentle correction very well.
10. He is food OBSESSED! Which means he is good at learning new things with food as a reward but he goes nuts when you are cooking or eating and will try to get into anything he thinks has food in it.
11. He only barks in the house when you have food and he wants it.
12. He isn’t afraid of loud noises and isn’t bothered by the vacuum or leaf blower.
13. He loves to sun bathe.
14. He is my shadow, and if I move he will jump up and follow right in my heels.
15. He will bark at dogs going by on walks.
16. He doesn’t like car rides and barks in the car.
17. Does not want to be picked up.
18. He likes to nest in fluffy blankets.

"Andy is a sweet boy that wants to love his person and can flourish with someone that will be patient with him and put the time into training on the things he needs help with."
