Hopper is a loving and protective family dog. He plays hard and loves even harder. His favorite things are laughter, kisses, and cuddles.
I have had the pleasure of being Hopper’s foster mom for one year. When he arrived it was apparent that he was just under a year old and had never had formal training. He is now potty trained, kennel trained, knows basic commands as well as some tricks, and has been neutered. Although he walks well on leash, he is still learning. He has proven to play well with other dogs (my dog and the dogs at the dog park).
He is recommended for someone that has kids over 10. Although he can be very gentle and laid back, he has aloof boxer energy and could knock smaller children down by accident while playing or celebrating. He is not recommended for those entering their golden years for the same reason. Hopper would love to share a home with another dog and kids, he has not been tested with cats but cats are not recommended. Please reach out if you would like to meet Hopper. He is currently located in San Diego.

Go meet their pets
All dogs for adoption are in foster homes in So. CA where the meet and greets typically take place or at an arranged neutral territory when appropriate. All dogs and family members are required to come in person for the meet and greet if possible. Dog to dog assessments are usually done by my trainer. I do not participate in adoption events.

More about this rescue
I am a small independent rescuer in the San Gabriel Valley in So. CA. I was inspired to get into rescue when I lost my heart of heart dogs Ebony in 2011 and now have been rescuing and saving lives for 13 years. I pull unwanted dogs from high kill shelters, vet and provide training as needed, place in suitable foster homes, and finally good forever homes no matter how long it takes. All of this out of my own pocket most of the time. I pride myself on finding the most amazing adopters and my motto is always to set the dog up for success. I primarily rescue large mixed breed dogs a large percentage which are bully breeds.
