Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Sophie! Sophie came to Trash Cat Rescue after she was put on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded North Carolina shelter. This poor girl hasn't had the easiest journey so far - she was diagnosed with a cataract in her right eye, and she came to us with severe dental disease.
Despite all of this, Sophie remains the sweetest girl ever. She loves everyone she meets, and anytime a new person meets her, they gush about how loving and personable she is. She really just wants affection and to be loved!
Sophie adores catnip and feather toys and will roll all over while playing with them. She has been fostered with other cats and can coexist with another calm kitty, but she can also be a bit sassy sometimes... she will definitely stand up for herself if she is being bullied! While we think she could live with other accommodating cats, with proper introductions, she also probably wouldn't mind going home as a solo cat. We think she would do just fine with respectful kiddos of any age.
Sophie is estimated to be about 6.5 years old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. She has had a dental with TCR, but she is likely to need additional extractions as her dental disease progresses. Our vet notes that her eye is stable for now, but should be monitored regularly for any changes. Are you a dedicated pet owner looking to give this sweet girl the loving home she has been waiting so long for? Please apply for Sophie today!

Additional adoption info
We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
