My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Esme was rescued from a hoarding situation where she was crammed into a small hutch with approximately seventeen other rabbits. Despite this traumatic start, she is a sweet, friendly bunny! Her est. DOB is 2/8/24. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (RHDV2). She loves food and attention! Could you be her happy ending? She is ready for a home of her own where she can get lots of love and attention.

Go meet their pets

Our rescue is foster-based. All adoptions and meet ‘n greets are by appointment only. Most of our appointments are in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. In order to help our animals find homes, we have flexible appointment options! Events are shared on social media (Facebook/Instagram) and/or our website.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based small animal rescue. We care for and offer rescue & sanctuary services for small animals including, but not limited to, pet mice, hamsters, gerbils, rats, guinea pigs, chinchillas and rabbits. While our rescue is volunteer-run, our executive director does rescue full-time allowing us to also assist other local rescues with medical, pregnancy/maternity care & special needs cases especially involving chinchillas and rabbits. While we have been active in small animal rescue since 2020, we were established as Underground Squeaks in 2023. We are currently pending 501c3 approval.
