FANNY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Fanny Best Guess for Breed: Terrier/Schnauzer Mix
Best Guess for Age: 1 year, 6 mos as of October 2024 Gender: Female
Approximate Weight: 50 lbs as of October 2024
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have not seen Fanny live or interact with kids or cats, but she can be tested!
Currently Living At: Our South Carolina Rescue Campus. Fanny needs a foster or forever home!
Special Adoption Considerations: Fanny is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.
We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!
Fanny is Looking For: A loving family to take me on walks, give me lots of belly scritches, and show me all the love that has been missing from my life. I can't wait to earn lots of treats in training and to go on lots of adventures with a family of my own. Do you have room for me in your family?!
What My Foster Says About Me: Coming Soon! We will update this when Fanny has spent some time in a foster home.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
