Dog Name: Little Bo Peep
Breed: Pit Bull, most likely mix
Sex: Female
Age: DOB September 4, 2024
Weight: 6lbs
Medical Needs: Spay. This must be completed by February 25, 2025, and is scheduled through Grass Roots Rescue. Spay/Neuter appointments can be requested for Georgetown, Dover, Wilmington or Newark. We will request the appointment at the location most convenient for the adopter. Foster to adopt families must understand we are given dates and whatever date their dog is assigned by the clinic, is the date they will be required to keep. Because the spay is still pending, foster to adopt families must live within an hour of one of the locations listed above, and must be willing to travel there for the appointment.
Housebroken: No She needs to be potty trained. This will require an adopter with time and patience. She does use potty training pads and a pine pellet box but puppy’s have accidents and miss the pad.
Crate trained: No
Good in the car: Traveled in crate and was very well behaved and has not gotten sick.
Good on a leash: Unknown. Too young for leash work.
Energy level: Puppy level! This girl plays hard and sleeps hard! She really loves to run and rough house with the seven-month old resident pup.
Dog Friendly: Yes.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, but Little Bo Peep loves playing with the cats and adult dogs in our home. She would love to have an understanding dog that isn’t afraid of her vicious sounding growls and rough housing.
Cat Friendly? Yes, but foster home has extremely friendly cats.
Kid Friendly: Yes
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Because she is so young, no kids under 8. She will be in her puppy raptor stage and need a ton of obedience which can be too much for some kids.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Little Bo Peep is always wagging her tail or bouncing her head back and forth like she has a happy time playing over and over in her head. She is the perfect blend of goofy and sweet! She was bottle fed and hand raised since she was 5 days old so she does prefer to be close to her foster family and the other pets in the foster home. She loves to bark and growl like she is all grown up with a resident dog so a home where other dogs won’t be intimidated by a tough scrappy pup like her. She is also very gentle when approaching and interacting with the cats she finds lurking around.
