Animal Profile: Nelson is a 28lb hunky little short stack that was labeled a 'Shiba Inu' mix. While his parentage may raise questions, we can tell you that he has an awesome personality and a winning grin. Nelson was found wandering as a stray, and wound up in the shelter in early September. No one came to claim him, and he's been waiting for someone to come whisk him away ever since. Nelson stole the heart of our rescue partner, and lucky for him those stubby little legs are hitching a ride to the PNW! We can't wait to meet him.
Foster Update: Nelson is an outgoing and friendly young dog who loves people! He thoroughly enjoys playing fetch and tug-of-war and also likes to snuggle up with us in the evening. He is crate-trained, potty-trained, sleeps through the night, and is picking up commands and boundaries quickly. Nelson is dog-friendly and likes to play with other dogs. He also really loves his people, so we believe he will do well in a home with or without another dog. He is a little too eager with the cat in his foster home, so a forever home without cats is probably best for Nelson. Nelson would love an active family that wants to play with him and take him on daily walks and lots of adventures.
Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
