A FUN & ENERGETIC GAL: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 35 lbs.
Hi, my name’s Josie! Somehow, I wound up at animal control, and I knew it was my lucky day when Mostly Mutts came for me. At the MM shelter, I am settling in nicely and am now ready to find a family to love and be loved by, come meet me soon! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I did well meeting and interacting with dogs outside the shelter, but the shelter environment stressed me out, making it harder to make friends with the dogs there, so let’s meet away from the shelter with my trainer to see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, fun and friendly girl with the most adorable floppy ears and nubby tail! Playful and affectionate, I love to spend time with people. I was a bit unsure during my shelter bath, but I eventually relaxed and – by the ear and face cleaning time, I was giving sweet kisses. I am playful and energetic, so I am looking for a family member that matches my energy level for lots of fun and adventures together. / My energy level is 6-8.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I’m a bit obsessed with toys, so my trainer has taught me to exchange my toy for a treat or another toy. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, as well as in two temp. foster homes I’ve visited. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule and in my temp. foster homes, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I am super excited when I visit the play yard with the volunteers! In my temp. foster home, I loved playing in the backyard and doing zoomies! I really love toys and, as mentioned above, can be obsessed with them. Mealtime is a close favorite to play time, so a slow feeder suits my needs best, so I don’t get a tummy ache from eating my food at lightning speed – lol. After some playtime, let’s snuggle up and unwind together. / I don’t like bicycles passing me. Otherwise, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m currently on an inexpensive medication to help with my hyper-focus on toys. At the shelter, I can’t have toys overnight for my safety, so I get excited when I see a toy. I’m hoping that in my forever home, where there will be lots of toys, I can feel more relaxed about them and hopefully come off the medication in time.
I am looking for a fun family with whom I can make great memories! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
