My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How these pets arrived:
Bolinho and Muffin were brought in together by our Humane Law Enforcement team.

Why they might be for you:
Muffin (927980) and Bolinho (927981) are the best guinea pigs in the whole wide world. Ok, might be a slight exaggeration but not by much. They are clean. They like to be picked up. They squeak. They like to be held. They are buddies and probably prefer being together but they won't be picky just as long as they go to a nice home that understands what guinea pigs need, a home that loves them and a home that will have human laps for them to snooze in while being petted. They need a safe inside enclosure with room for eating, sleeping, playing and bathroom. They need a source of Timothy hay (it is easy to get), places to hide, and an assortment of fun toys. Muffin is the more curious and playful while Bolinho prefers lap sitting while being petted. With both, you get the best of both worlds - entertainment and cuddles. Sometimes they switch places though with Bolinho playing and Muffin snoozing in a lap. They like to leave their enclosure and explore their surroundings - but always inside. If you have been thinking that a guinea pig would be a good pet for you, come to visit Bolinho and Muffin. These guys are just the best. Come to see for yourself. Bring a carrier because we think that these guys will steal your heart and go home with you. .

They have received their vaccinations and are ready for their new home.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
