A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

What kind of home would be best for me? Louis is a young, happy, active standard poodle. He's great with dogs of all sizes, loves everyone he meets, has great manners, and is eager to please. He's a go-with-the-flow sort of guy that would be happy in lots of environments. The key that Louis wants is your time. Louis would love another dog in the home to play with but would be happy as the king of your castle with plenty of play dates with other dogs. Louis will also do great around children that are older than 10, as he does get very excited and jumps sometimes, but only to reach for a kiss! Louis has not been tested with cats.
What is my personality like? If you’re looking for a bundle of fur and fun, look no further because this sweet boy might just be your perfect match! Handsome Louis was the beloved companion to a single professional until life changed. With too much travel and not enough time at home, she knew that Louis needed more than she could offer and reached out to rescue for help. Louis is an adult male standard poodle who has nothing but playtime on his mind. This energetic guy loves to play, run and romp with other canine friends. He gets along with all other dogs, male or female, big or small! Louis is a very smart boy and picks up onto things very quickly. He also keeps his run very clean and tidy with little to no messes.
As stated previously, Louis is still a young adult and is very energetic, which means he will also need a fenced in yard for extra playtime and exercise. He will also kindly let you know when he’s ready to go outside and can be a little noisy before he’s let out. This high-spirited boy would benefit most from an active family looking to add some furry fun to their lives, but would still settle and adjust to a quiet, laid-back lifestyle if adopters are willing to plan social outings, and other fun adventures for him. Louis is adjusting just fine here at the farm and finds joy in all the little things, but he desperately wants to join you on your next adventure and become a member of your sweet family!
How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly - Louis loves meeting people and giving kisses!

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
