My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chocolate and Nellie - a pair of sweet guinea pigs looking for their forever home together!

Chocolate is a striking black and tan Abyssinian with a bold yet sweet personality, while Nellie is a gentle crested beauty with soft shades of brown, black, and white. These two share an unbreakable bond and have been leaning on each other during a challenging time as their bonded sister was unfortunately unwell and is no longer part of their trio.

Thankfully, the illness isn't contagious, and Chocolate and Nellie are healthy and ready to bring joy to a loving home. They'll keep you entertained with their curious natures and adorable antics. Like any pair of guinea pigs, they come with twice the fun-and twice the cleanup-so be prepared for the care they deserve.

If you're ready to give these inseparable sisters a safe and loving home, they're ready to fill your life with love and squeaky chatter. Could Chocolate and Nellie be your perfect match?

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
