Jazzy appears to be fearful and may not have had much human interaction up to this point. She is very apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she does attempt to avoid human contact. During the assessment she was tense and frozen at the back of the cage on her shelf with a hunched body, tolerating a few brief and light touches before she moved to run into her den and would benefit from extra socialization. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents who are preferably familiar with kitten socialization or are open to detailed counseling by staff. Contact with young children should be avoided or done under strict supervision to prevent provoking a fear response, further delaying socialization

Animal Care Centers of NYC encourages everyone to come to one of our three full service Care Centers when looking to adopt a pet. Beautiful dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rabbits are anxiously waiting a home to call their own.

All ACC adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, one month of free pet health insurance, and a free office visit at a participating veterinarian.
