Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Faith is a little over a year old and has lots of playful puppy energy! She would love a fenced yard for zoomies, and she loves to play with other dogs, too. She can play a bit rough and doesn’t always understand when the other dog is not so keen to play. She would do best with other playful yet patient dogs who can show her the ropes. She missed the early memos about jumping, play-biting, and pouncing on others, so she needs an adopter who can continue working with her on these behaviors. She’s also working on loose-leash walking and has the most adorable prancing step! She will notice other dogs and critters but can be redirected by talking to her. She loves to chase bugs in the backyard. She rides great in the car and would love to travel with you!
This adorable pocket pittie also wants to be a lap dog, and will try to crawl into your lap when you sit. She does well in the crate for a few hours at a time. While she knows she’s supposed to do her business outside, she is young and still sometimes has accidents in the crate and around the house. She’s very curious and intently studies anything new in her space. She’s a clever, eager girl, and will flourish with someone who will bond with her through training.

All of our adoptions begin with a visit to one of our adoption events. The adoption coordinator and/or the pet's foster parent will review the applications received. The applicant (if any) whose responses best fit the needs of the particular pet will generally be contacted within a week to schedule a home visit. A vet check and personal reference is also required prior to visiting your home. Our non-refundable adoption fee is $250 for dogs, $85 for kittens ($150 for a pair of kittens), and $75 for an adult cat. The fee covers spay/neuter, core vaccines (distemper and rabies), deworming, microchipping, and the general care of the animals. Per our contract, if you cannot keep your adopted pet for any reason, it must be returned to our program. We will try to find it a new home.

We don't have a central shelter facility, so the best place to meet our adoptable cats and dogs is at our adoption shows! If you have previously filled out an application, please bring it with you to the show! Please e-mail with any questions. We cannot guarantee that an animal you want to meet will be at the show. Please check www.pgspca.org -> adopt -> adoption_show_attendees the day before the show and we will do our best to let you know if he/she will be there!

More about this rescue
The PGSPCA is a nonprofit organization of volunteers dedicated to animal welfare. We are chartered by the State of Maryland, but we receive no state or county funds. Our activities are supported solely by contributions, dues and fundraising events.
We have three main objectives:
• To reduce the number of unwanted litters of dogs and cats through our progressive spay/neuter program – We have altered more than 20,000 animals over the past five years, many of them at no charge;
• To prevent cruelty to animals and all animal suffering through humane education, neglect and cruelty investigations, protective legal action, and an active dog and cat adoption program – We receive about 1,000 calls a month for cruelty investigations, spay and neuter assistance and adoption requests;
• To protect all animals against suffering and abuse through education on legislation affecting the protection of all animals – We regularly educate the public and provide testimony about animal welfare to county and state legislators.
