Meet Loki, the charming one-eyed wonder pup! This sweet 1-year-old Catahoula mix has had quite the adventure- he came to our rescue after a little "eye-opening" experience with a cat scratch (pun totally intended!). Unfortunately, his previous owner couldn't afford the surgery he needed and decided he wasn't the right fit anymore. But don't worry! Our amazing rescue partner swooped in like a superhero, giving Loki the care he deserved and helping him start fresh.

Even with his injury, Loki holds no hard feelings toward his feline friends- he's like the dog version of "forgive and forget!" Just a little reminder: every cat situation is different, so it's best to approach with a sprinkle of caution (and maybe some yummy treats!). Now, this resilient and adorable pup is on a mission to find his forever home, where he can spread love and joy like confetti! If you're looking for a loyal companion who knows how to embrace life's little surprises (like scratches), Loki is your guy!

Our adoption requirements are as follows:

We encourage that all members of the family come and visit with the animal (especially children). We do not adopt pets as gifts.

Homes that currently own one or more dogs and are looking for another will have to complete a dog meeting to ascertain compatibility.

More about this shelter

At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.
