My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Reed Low, the perfect 35-pound pup who’s ready to score big in your heart! Named after a beloved St. Louis Blues enforcer, Reed Low is full of energy and playfulness, just like his namesake on the ice. While he hasn’t quite mastered doggy games like fetch yet, he loves interacting with humans—and he's hoping you'll coach him through it! His dog-friendly nature makes him a great teammate for other pups, and he's all about getting close for some lovies.

Reed Low is the ideal size for hiking and outdoor adventures, and though he may jump up with excitement when he meets new friends, he’s overall gentle and sweet. His enthusiasm might be a little much for very small children, but we know he’ll be quick to pick up some pointers with a bit of guidance. At 2 years old and likely a Beagle/Catahoula mix, he’s the perfect age for training and bonding.

Sadly, Reed Low came in heartworm positive, but he is finishing up his heartworm treatment and he’ll be cleared for full activities soon—just in time to join you on all your adventures. Are you ready to show Reed Low the world of snuggles and help him achieve his MVP status in your family?

If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.

Reed Low’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
