My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

You can see more beautiful dogs by visiting our Adoptable Dogs page.

Oklahoma dogs are not available to adopters who live in an apartment.

Spot and his littermates came to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Oklahoma after being dumped in a rural area of Oklahoma. They made their way to a nearby barn where the property owner quickly reached out to us for help. The litter is currently about 9 weeks old (today is 10/17/2024), and are Great Pyrenees cross pups.

Spot is a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky pup. He loves having a play buddy and would do well with an active family where he can be part of the family pack. He's doing great at crate training and leash training, as well as learning his basic puppy manners.

The litter has received vet visits with age appropriate vaccines and deworming, and is also up to date on monthly prevention meds. They'll get their next vaccines and neuter/spays in less than three weeks and be ready to leave us to join their furever home so apply now at http://www.nationalpyr.org  Out of state adopters are welcome, but please be prepared to travel to Tulsa to complete the adoption as we don't have transport available.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page.

Please complete the adoption application and visit nationalpyr.org to learn more about Pyrs and our adoption process. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a non-profit, tax-exempt rescue who has been rescuing the breed for 15 years.  Visit nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
