My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

atch Date : April 2024

This yellow beauty is Connie.  She is a baby cockatiel, only about 5 months old, so she has a lot to learn. She hasn't had a lot of handling yet, but her foster dad is trying to change that.  She eats a pellet/seed mix right now, but her foster family is trying her with healthy veggie supplements and moving toward less seed.  She is used to other birds, as she only left the flock in her birth home recently. She likes to interact with the Lovebird in her foster home, and they play on the cage top together.

Connie will require some time, patience and consistency for handtaming, but she is a baby, and you will have a lifetime of companionship with her.  As cockatiels can live long, active lives into their twenties, we will want to make sure Connie is adopted by someone who has thought seriously through the commitment and will treat her like the life companion she is meant to be.

Connie is being fostered in Bensalem, PA, and will require in-person visits before adoption
We do not ship our adoptable birds.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption procedure begins with completing an adoption application and returning it to us. We will check your references and then call you for a telephone interview. While we check your references, we will ask that you review an educational power point presentation. After your application is approved, it is our policy that you visit with the bird(s) three times to have multiple interactions with them and give you time to consider the adoption and get ready for your new family member. There is an adoption fee for each bird.
