Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hello everyone! My name is Rory, and I’m so excited to introduce myself. I’m a cute little 7 month old petite female Lab mix weighing in at 28 lbs. I came to my foster home in Monroe, MI with my two sisters, and we made some pawsome new friends here – a sweet foster dog sister and a fun dog foster brother and I met my foster cousin! We were rescued in Texas with our mom when things weren’t going so well, but Project Hope swooped in and saved us. Now, I’m ready to find my forever family! I’ve gotten really good about telling my foster mom when I need to go outside and have only had a couple accidents the past month. Luckily, my foster mom has puppy pads for me, and I use those when needed. I get to go play outside with the big boys in the fenced in yard, and I love running back to the door with the other dogs – especially because I get a treat! I even know how to sit when it’s time for those yummy treats, I’m learning the meaning of gentle when it’s time for my treat.
One of my favorite things is being held and snuggled, and if you ask, I’ll happily give you a little puppy kiss! I love belly rubs, I’ll even let you know when I want one with a yip. I love playing with stuffed animals, especially the ones that crinkle - they're so much fun! Do you want to play fetch? I will bring the toy back. I’ve met the neighbors and I really liked their little boy and girl. There are cats upstairs in my foster home, I’ve ventured up there a few times, and they seem to like me. I would rather play with their toys than talk to them though.

If you would like to fill out an adoption application for me, please visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org.
We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue
We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
