My story

Hello everyone! My name is Rory, and I’m so excited to introduce myself. I’m cute little 4-
month-old petite female Lab mix weighing in at 16lbs. My mom wasn’t very big, so I don’t think I will be either.

I came to my foster home in Monroe, MI with my two sisters, and we’ve made
some pawsome new friends here – a sweet foster dog sister and a fun dog foster brother!
We were rescued in Texas with our mom when things weren’t going so well, but Project Hope
swooped in and saved us. Now, I’m ready to find my forever family!

I’m working really hard on learning to go potty outside, but sometimes I just can’t hold it yet.
Luckily, my foster mom has puppy pads for me, and I use those when needed. I’ve just started going outside without a leash, and I love running back to the door with the other dogs - especially because I get a treat! I even know how to sit when it's time for those yummy treats.

One of my favorite things is being held and snuggled, and if you ask, I’ll happily give you a little puppy kiss! I love playing with stuffed animals, especially the ones that crinkle - they're so much fun.

I’ve met the neighbors and I really liked their little boy and girl. There are cats upstairs in
my foster home, but I haven’t met them yet.

I just know there’s someone out there who will fall in love with me and want to bring me home.

Additional adoption info

We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue

We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
