This sweet little girl is Misty, who came to AFH from a shelter in southern Virginia. Her family didn’t want her and dumped her at a shelter that was already overcrowded. Luckily for Misty, one of our wonderful fosters stepped up to save her life.

The adoption process typically takes ~1 week. You will not take a dog home on the same day you meet him/her.

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out, an interview with one of our volunteers (this can be done at the adoption event), a home visit is required prior to the animal going to their new home.
