My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Momma Batya grew up outside her rescuer’s home, often frolicking with the dog, and curious about the children, but evading a commitment to indoor living. When she delivered her 5 kittens in the yard, the rescuer knew the time had finally come to offer her a better alternative to surviving the local streets. Her devotion to her kittens earned her the reward of a home to call her own. Absorbing all that has been new to her. Batya has traded in her timid nature for a more zen like approach to her safer lifestyle. Leaning into chin rubs likes she’s always deserved them makes us appreciate how much peace and consistency matter to her. A patient, loving, quiet home with older kids will provide her the comfort she has realized was not only possible but also available for her. Time has been an excellent tool to use to win her. We often find her frolicking with gentle friends during playtime. Guess who’s first to the door to receive her dinner?! Batya will someday look back on this whole process with awe, wonder and pride, that she survived so much to be by your side furever.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
Double Kittens $150
Adult Cats (over 6 months) $50
