My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for Adoption: Meet Stella!

Stella is a terrier mix, approximately 1.5 years old, and she's ready to find her forever home! This sweet girl gets along great with cats and other dogs and is looking for a loving family to help her continue to thrive.

While Stella is super loving, she's a bit skittish at times and would do best in a home without small children. She needs a calm, patient environment where she can feel safe and secure. Stella is also an active dog. She is not a couch potato so you must also have an active lifestyle. She really loves to play fetch!

If you're looking for a loyal companion with lots of love to give, Stella could be your perfect match! Apply today at pawsfurrecovery.org and give her the home she deserves.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350. Please remember that you must meet requirements prior to adoption which include a home check, and a vet check.. If you have other dogs, they must all be spayed, neutered and up-to-date on shots and on flea tick and heartworm prevention.

Additional adoption info

Thank you for considering the adoption of a rescue. Before you decide to adopt a pet, please consider the effort and funds necessary to properly maintain an animal. Responsible pet ownership requires a commitment to provide care and companionship for the life of the animal. The decision to adopt a pet is an important one. In order to ensure that you and your pet will be happy for years to come, we need to take time to discuss your animal and your individual needs and personality traits. Please take a few moments to carefully read and complete this questionnaire. Please note there are no wrong answers, but honesty is the best answer for all involved. This is to ensure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you and your family.

Please note: Completion of this application does not guarantee adoption. If you do not own your own home - Paws Fur Recovery will need to contact your landlord or HOA to verify that you are allowed to have pets. We will also need to perform an in-person house check to verify that your home is suitable for pets (enough space, fenced in yard, etc). We will need to meet all residents of your home, including any adults, children, pets both inside & out - to make sure your home is suitable for the dog you are seeking to adopt. This is not an exhaustive list of requirements. Every dog's situation is different and every adoption will be handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of a Paws Fur Recovery representative.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs stuck in high kill shelters that are at risk of euthanasia. At the same time we strive to empower our volunteers who are all recovering addicts and alcoholics.

Paws Fur Recovery aims to promote these benefits for our dogs and volunteers:

○ Encourages positive change and a sense of purpose
○ Increases self-esteem.
○ Teaches trust again
○ Promotes responsibility and accountability
○ Decreases anxiety and depression in both the addict and the dog
○ Provides socialization for both the addict and the dog
○ Creates a symbiotic relationship of unconditional love and acceptance

Certain dogs at the shelter have stories that every recovering addict knows all too well: They have been abandoned, alone, afraid, abused, unwanted and misunderstood. They are powerless over their current circumstances and must rely on a power greater than themselves to help them.

We can relate, and we are here to help. We know firsthand about the gift of a second chance. We are passionate about rescuing these forgotten dogs. We help them recover and find their way to homes where they will finally know what it’s like to feel safe and loved.
