Earlier this year we were asked to assist with a bad neglect case in Lake County. Cowboy and 10 other bunnies were living in terrible conditions, had matted fur, which can be very painful, and were covered with fleas. ORCA was able to take in three of the rabbits, including Cowboy. After their rescue, volunteers spent almost five hours grooming and cleaning them so that they could start their new lives in their foster homes as clean, spoiled and loved house rabbits. Now, Cowboy is thrilled to be able to show off his silky cinnamon-colored fur and the fetching white dot on his nose!
Even after all he has been through, Cowboy maintains a sweet personality and a good disposition. He is a good eater and enthusiastically accepts bunny-approved treats. Although he was roughing it in his previous situation he has perfected litter box usage, and his foster mom says he is the best potty-trained bun she was ever known. Because of his good manners he would likely make a good free roam bunny some day. Cowboy is not a fan of loud noises (well, neither are many of us humans) and has his shy moments, but is definitely a fan of human companionship. This little boy will steal your heart and warm your home in no time.
We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!
Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.
