My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Monty

Monty is a beautiful estimated 1yr young long hair tabby. A kind woman knew he was not an outdoor kitty when she found him very sick abandoned outdoors. She took Monty to her vet and he stayed there 5 days. They literally saved his life from some type of poison he got into.

Thats where we came in as she contacted us and we brought him into our loving foster home. Fast forward 2 months and he is fully enjoying the leisurely loving life. Quick to be by the family purring his way with head boops for love!

He will thrive in a home that’s able to help him maintain his chill and affectionate vibe. To us this means a home with adult respectful children as younger loud kids easily startle him. He would make a great addition to your kitty home as he's always with the other kitties in his foster home. Looking for a new loyal best friend to be your couch companion? Money is your boy as he is social and loves to be pet. He is very curious and checks everything out in his foster home. Be prepared as he will need some time to acclimate to your home and bond with you.

He has been a joy in our home but now it's time to find him a forever home where his charm, playfulness, and affection will be cherished. If you're ready to open your heart to this incredible lad, he's prepared to reciprocate with love and endless charm. Come make Monty's dreams of a forever family come true!

He is neutered, dewormed, up to date on shots, and microchipped.

He is fostered in Muskego Wisconsin.
His adoption fee is $50

The adoption fee will enable us to finance our program of rescuing and readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we rescue, transport and adopt out in the northern United States. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals as possible out of south Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis.

Additional adoption info

Texas Rescue Riders follows the National No Kill Advocacy Guidelines, which recommend conversation based adoptions and education to find a good home. Ensuring a good home doesn’t require excessive arbitrary rules. Adopters have many options when it comes to finding their new best friend, and making the decision to adopt rather than go to a more convenient pet store or breeder shouldn’t be a difficult process.

Our pets are available to meet at their foster homes or local public meeting spots. Adoption events are posted on our Facebook page.

More about this rescue

Texas Rescue Riders appreciates our community's support in bringing dogs and cats from rural Texas into loving homes in the Midwest. Our amazing rescuers in Texas save these animals off the streets, where there is a severe pet overpopulation problem due to cultural differences and year round temperate climate. Texas Rescue Riders is an all inclusive rescue- we rescue first hand, nurse back to health, provide veterinary care, transport and adopt them out on our own. Our journey may begin in Texas, but it lives on in the north with our amazing adopters, fosters, volunteers and collaborating businesses. We are bound by our love of these precious souls who have joined their forever homes - and by those homeless dogs and cats whom we have not yet met - but who are waiting for their chance at happily ever after.
