Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Lilly is a pretty, 12-year-old tabby who came to HART via another rescue when her owners were no longer able to care for her. What we have learned about her is that she has a lovely purr, is very gentle, and likes the quiet life. She is often seen hanging out on top of high perches or on a cat tree. She is not one that wants to be in the middle of the action. But, she does love human attention and is always in the mood for pets and scritches.
Lilly is a diabetic. Currently, she is not on insulin but that can change. She does require regular monitoring of her blood sugar and needs to eat a low-carb, wet food only diet (we use Fancy Feast Classic Pate). She is also prone to chronic vomiting, and takes a daily oral medication in a “pill pocket” to help keep this in check. We do require that her adopter have a well-established relationship with a veterinarian. HART's Medical Team will provide training in the care of a diabetic cat, along with a blood-glucose testing kit with related supplies, and a generous starter supply of canned food. In order to make these preparations, she won't be able to go home on the same day that you meet her.
Lilly currently lives at the shelter. She is ready to meet you and move into your lap! Please submit an adoption application and make time to meet Lilly in Room 4.
