My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Yogi! I'm a fun-loving, whip-smart, tug-of-war champion. My curiosity led me to find a stuffed animal that wasn't mine. I love toys so much and, I must admit, once I took it, I did not want to share or give it back. When I arrived at the shelter, volunteers who worked with me lovingly described me as a bull in a china shop. Apparently, I didn't know how big or strong I was. Obviously, I had a lot to learn about manners, so a foster family took me in to teach me how to be a gentleman.

Thanks to my loving foster family, I now have manners galore! I know my basic commands and some advanced tricks too! (You should see me army crawl.) I also learned how to be polite during feeding time; I sit and wait patiently as she prepares my food, and I don't make a move until she says "GO" and that means "It's time to eat!" I am looking for a family who will not only continue to guide me on my quest of being the perfect pup, but teach me new things because I love to learn!

I'm ready for my next adventure! I've got energy to burn and a heart full of love. When I attended doggie playgroups at the shelter, I got a long with a dominant female that could take my energy and strong play bows. With my overzealous energy, I may be intimidating to most other dogs. I would likely do best with a sturdy, confident female who likes rough and tumble play. In my foster home, I tolerate cats and some select dogs. If you have other pets in the home, slow introductions are best.

I'm looking for a partner(s) for life; someone who appreciates a good game of tug-of-war as much as I do. Really, I think any toy can play tug of war. I will bring you any toy and place it on your lap to play with me. Because I'm a bigger guy, it would be best if no small children are in the home. I forget how big I am and may knock them over! Are you strong enough to handle me on walks too? If yes, I would love to go on adventures with you! With my energy, I would do love a fenced in yard or long walks. I love to sniff and am curious about the outside. Adopt me, and let's start our adventure together!
