My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Skrilla was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
Skrilla has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

Why Skrilla might be the one for you:
If you think Skrilla looks friendly, it is because Skrilla is VERY friendly. Skrilla is easy to leash and walks well on a leash because he knows he will meet people when he is being walked and he likes people. He is a little big to be picked up but he likes to be picked up and carried - go figure! He likes to be around children and does well with them - again, because he likes people. Skrilla will want some outdoor area for playing and chasing imaginary stuff or he will want plenty of walks. He has some energy to burn but he is a mature guy so a soft bed is often more important than chasing imaginary stuff. He is house trained. He is smart and knows how to be a good dog, inside or outside. Do you want to meet friendly Skrilla and see if you might become his new best buddy? If so, come to our shelter and ask to meet Skrilla, the good and friendly one.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
