My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Bodie arrived:
Bodie was brought in by his previous owner.

At SDHS:
Bodie is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Bodie is now ready for his new home!

Why Bodie is the one for you:
Say HELLO to handsome Bodie! One thing you need to know about Bodie is that he is quite opinionated. For example, he LOVES people, belly rubs, shoulder massages, soccer balls, hamburgers and any opportunity to play. Things he's not so fond of? Birds and sharing his space with other dogs. He has lived with kids ages 4-15 years of age and was always wonderful around the children. He also appears to be potty-trained and responds well to positive-reinforcement training, displaying his excellent manners while waiting for you to throw his ball for him. If you, like us, can respect this sweet dog's preferences and make him your one and only pet, you'll be rewarded with a lifetime of love and smiles! More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
