My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jasper:

Jasper is a large, super sweet dog who has quickly become a beloved companion. He was found as a stray through Dog Control, so we don't have much history on him. Despite his past, Jasper has been very well-behaved and knows how to sit perfectly. He is excitable, with puppy-like energy, and loves playtime with his toys, especially if treats are involved. Jasper's gentle nature shines through when he enjoys his favourite chin scratches, making him a joy to have around.

If you believe this sweet, young canine is the furever family friend, please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
