My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Everyone meet Amy, this lovely not so little lady is about 8-10 months old, weighing in already at right around 100lbs. This girl is one of the newest additions to the CHS family. She is going to need someone who understands her and is willing to spend the time training her. She is a little shy for about 60 seconds and then she will be your bestfriend. So far she gets along with other dogs. This kiddo is going to need room to run and play. She won't be an apartment dog at all. We have no idea how she is going to do with cats. Due to her size and her inability to realize that she is as big as she is, we would not suggest putting her in a home with kids that are under 12 years old.

If you are interested in adopting this wonderful girl we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once you have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet her. 1.
Submit Application

We ask that prior to arrival at the shelter you please either call or email for further details and to get an application for the pet.

2.
Meet the Pet

When you appointment time has been set, we will have you come and meet your pet.

3.
Take the Pet Home

If all goes well the pet can go home with you the same day.

Additional adoption info

Cats $150.00

All cat adoption fees include leukemia testing, spaying or neutering, entire series of vaccines, de-wormer & flea treatment while at the shelter, microchipping, free vet check within 14 days of adoption at any local Columbia County Veterinarian, a complimentary adoption take-home packet and a carrier.

Puppies (under 6 months of age)................................$350.00

Dogs (over 7 months of age).......................................$250.00

All dog adoption fees include , spaying or neutering, current on vaccines, de-wormer & flea treatment while at the shelter, microchipping, free vet check within 14 days of adoption at participating local Columbia County Veterinarian, complimentary take-home adoption packet and a leash and collar.

All adoptions must be reviewed prior to approval. In order to ensure that every dog and cat goes to the appropriate home, Columbia Humane Society reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption application for any reason they see fit. A home check may be performed in order to determine suitability. Columbia Humane Society's kennels are not open to the public, all applications must be filled out prior to meeting with a pet.
