My foster writes:
Tawny is such a sweet girl! I knew from when I first took her in, she was so gentle and affectionate. She has been so well behaved; during my time with her she has had no accidents and has not barked once! She learned how to sit almost immediately and I am working on more commands with her.
Tawny wants to be around you all the time. She will cuddle and sleep next to you while you are sitting or watching TV. She sleeps a lot! She will also lay on her back and stick her belly out for belly rubs, then break out in a smile.
She walks very well on the leash and does not pull unless she sees a squirrel. Even then she is just interested in playing and will quickly turn her attention away once you continue walking. She has not reacted to other dogs on walks. She willingly goes into her crate and will just sleep without any issues while I'm out.
Everyone that I have introduced her to has fallen in love with her. She would truly be a wonderful addition to any home.

A volunteer writes: Petite Tawny has been friendly since our first encounter, but now recognizes me and wags her tail extra hard when I approach. She resides in the very first kennel passed by dog room visitors, and despite having been passed by hundreds of humans, she doesn't yet have one to call her own. Rough fur patches could use some TLC, but I'm stunned that this lovely dog is being passed over! I gently lift her out of her upper kennel, and we are off for a walk. Tawny has been quite housebroken with us and does her business outside. Our walk is relaxing: Tawny strolls at a comfortable pace, stopping to sniff sidewalk treasures, and easily takes my cues to cross the street. She is easy on walks and walkable by even our newest volunteers, but recommended to be an only dog. We sit down and she leans in for pets while we watch sidewalk pigeons. As I later close her kennel, I tell her that I'll miss her, but hope she's with her new family when I come back. Tawny arrived at ACC with six other dogs after their owner passed away.
