Meet Rapunzal, a resilient and loving 2-year-old, 43-pound beauty who has transformed remarkably after a rough start in life. Once a “throwaway mommy dog” ending up in a high-kill shelter, missing fur and just really beaten up, Rapunzel now looks and feels like a brand-new dog thanks to the love and care she’s received in her foster home. She’s ready for her forever family.

She is a sweet, calm, and mature girl who loves to snuggle on the couch, quietly enjoying her days. She’s not much of a barker and spends most of her time relaxing or peacefully napping. She walks wonderfully on a leash, never pulls, and looks forward to her daily walks. Rapunzel is 95% housetrained, knows how to use a doggy door, and is crate-trained, although she’s not a fan of being crated. A no-climb fence is recommended for her, as she can climb out of a chain-link fence if left alone in the yard.

While she gets along well with her foster family’s dogs, she seems to prefer the company of calm, low-energy dogs, as a more energetic dog didn’t appeal to her. Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
