When we help rescue dogs from shelters, we see some very sad stories. Like Thor's... Thor’s Plea: A Heartbroken Shepherd Mix Desperately Needs a Safe, Loving Home

Thor, a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his soulful eyes. Weighing 56 pounds, this handsome boy came into the shelter as an owner surrender, full of hope and health. But in just one month, the shelter took its toll on him—he lost o lot of weight, shut down emotionally, and became scared and confused, wondering what he had done wrong.

Just when his time was running out, Angel Dog Alliance stepped in and, with the help of a local rescue, got Thor to safety. Now, this sweet boy is at the vet, and is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can rediscover his happy, healthy self. Thor needs love, patience, and care, and in return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty. Can you help him find his forever happiness? We’re looking for a loving home in California or Illinois - we can transport to Naperville, IL for pick-up.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to save the lives of dogs facing euthanasia in high-kill shelters nationwide by pledging funds that enable rescues to take in, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. On occasion, if we do not have a local rescue in place in the city the dogs are in, we bring them to Illinois to avoid their euthanasia. They are placed in boarding for vetting, once done, they are promoted for fostering or adoption.

We hold weekly adoption events in Naperville, IL and in surrounding areas usually on Saturdays. Please keep checking to see where and when our latest event is. Meet all of these beautiful sweet dogs ready for their homes.
