My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Charlie!

She's a beautiful purebred chocolate Catahoula Leopard Dog who is just over 1 year old as of August of 2024. Her eyes immediately capture the attention of everyone who meets her. She is the perfect size -- around 40 pounds.

Charlie is an energetic bundle of joy who is sweet and sensitive as they come, with a playful spirit that can brighten anyone’s day. She would do great in an active home and would love nothing more than a good game of fetch. After playtime, she loves to lie around the house and cuddle up with her humans.

Charlie has been doing well with her basic obedience and is very motivated by toys in her training. She has done well with kids in the home and has lived with other dogs, but has not been around cats. She's kennel-trained and house-trained.

Charlie’s owner moved back to Texas and was not able to take her. A close friend has been caring for her for several months until it was time to find her forever home. After reaching a year of age, she was recently spayed in October of 2024. Charlie would love a family to teach her all that Colorado has to offer.

There is a rehoming fee. Please email the owner at catahoulapuppies9@gmail.com with a description of your home and what life would be like for Charlie. Thanks.

Additional adoption info

First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.

We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
