10/03/2024 Foster Feedback: Hello world! Who has four long legs and got the name Stix? That's me!

My foster mom says that I'm a handsome boy, with brindle swirls like Rocky Road ice cream or rye bread. I've never had either but those things seem very different to me. From the very first day with my foster family I showed off my SIT skills and they gave me treats! What a deal! I also SIT when they feed me which is a pretty great deal too.

I sleep through the night in my kennel like a good boy and I don't have any accidents overnight. Mostly I don't have any accidents in the house either, except for excited piddles sometimes, which is pretty good for my age!

My foster mom says my big boy teeth are coming in, something called "teething," but I haven't chewed up anything I'm not supposed to and I get delicious chewies instead. I get puppy chew toys in my kennel too, so I don't mind staying in there while my mom goes to work. I also love to hang around with other dogs; I'm very friendly and would love to play, but I've also been respectful with the resident dog here who is lazy and doesn't play with me very much.

Oh, and have I mentioned how much I love snuggles! My favorite thing is to scoot my butt backwards into your lap and collapse into you so that you can pet me and give me belly rubs. After spending a week in the pound it feels soooooooooooo good to get pets and lovings from a family. I hope I can get them forever with my new forever family!

Additional adoption info

There is a pre-adoption application, reference check, and home visit required prior to adopting an animal. There is an adoption donation/fee applied to all dogs. This fee ranges from $100-150. These fees help cover the veterinary care we have provided for the animals while they wait for homes. The fee also helps pay for the food and other general care we provide for the dogs. You must be 21 yrs or older to adopt a dog and can not live in a an area where there are dog breed bans. We do adopt to homes outside on the area, but there are special requirements for out of state adopters.
