Best Guess for Age: 7 years Gender: Female
Approximate Weight: 16 pounds
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have not seen her with cats or kids, but she can be tested.
Currently Living At: Shelter, Maybeline needs a foster or forever home!
Special Adoption Considerations: Maybeline is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.

Maybeline is Looking For: Her forever family! Through no fault, this sweetie needs a new home. She's eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and romps and all the adventures they can dream up - hey she may be 7 or so but small dogs' batteries last a LONG time and she's ready to go!
