BLUEBERRY hails from the Northern community of Poplar Hill and cane south with his sister (Cranberry) to find his loving family. He’s had 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip and been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. We have no information on his parents so the breeds we have him listed as is just a guess based on what he looks like. The Husky part is because he has one blue eye and one grey one and he has the markings of a Shepherd. He has some small breed mixed in there too and we’re leaning towards a JRT due to his small stature. This little guy is super friendly, loveable and very snuggly.
BLUEBERRY is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also take naps in there during the day. He loves to go on walks and enjoys being outside and playing in the grass. He’s in a foster home with kittens and loves to play with them and chase them around. He would suit a home with another dog and a cat in it due to his exposure with both. He loves to play with all sorts of toys and really likes to play with the many stuffies he has. He’ll run around and play and then just walk over to his dog bed and crash for a nap and sometimes he’s been spotted snuggling up to the kittens in his dog bed too.
BLUEBERRY would love a family who’s active and will take him on the walks he loves and even get him out on the hiking trails. He travels well in a vehicle and he’s always up and ready to be taken on an adventure or two. He loves people and will follow his foster around wherever she goes so he’d love to have someone home with him for most of the day. He requires a fenced in yard to keep him safe and children should be 6 plus and be loving, caring and gentle with animals. It should be noted that just because he’s small now it’s no guarantee that he’ll be a small breed dog and the expectation on his growth should be for a medium sized dog of around 45-50lbs.
Puppies are fun, cute and playful but they also require a lot of work and dedication to training. We need his adopter to be committed to signing him up for obedience/puppy training classes in order to adopt him.
His neuter is included in his adoption fee and has to be performed between 6 and 8 months of age and we need his adopter to also be in agreement with that in order to adopt him. The adopter can opt to get him neutered at their own vet and the rescue will reimburse what we would’ve paid for it to be performed at the SPCA. In order for that to happen though the same age for the neutering applies.
