Are you ready to meet the most gentle spirit? Ghost is a 2-year-old, 51 pound shepard mix and is anything but scary! House- and crate-trained, this curious guy prefers a slow intro to other people and dogs, and likes to spend his day lying close to you or playing on his own with his toys. He's also extremely polite! According to his foster, "he sits automatically when you get his leash and any time your hand goes near the treat bag-in the house, on walks, everywhere-he just auto sits when he thinks he's getting a treat."

The best way to meet our pups is via private meetings or at adoption events. We host these weekly at various locations around NYC.

Our adoption fee ranges from $275-$550 and covers the costs of vetting, boarding, transportation, and other necessary items for our dogs.

Hearts & Bones Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based rescue with dual bases in New York City, NY and Dallas, TX. We are dedicated to ending the needless euthanasia of shelter dogs through direct lifesaving, shared learning, and community building. Our incredible network of rescue partners, fosters, volunteers, and a small but mighty staff work together to save dogs in the areas where shelters are under the greatest stress, and unite them with loving adopters ready to give them the lives they deserve.
