Meet the Pet
This helps New Leash on Life Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
When you are born and raised in a dog shelter for the first 2 years of your life, you are bound to have some oddities. BUT!! Those oddities don’t define you, and they don’t mean that you are unworthy of forever love. Many of you may remember Kye (formerly known as Kyle), who we sprung from a sister shelter last year. Kye left the shelter when he was 2, and he is now almost 3. He is still searching for his perfect placement…but he hasn’t given up, so neither are we! Kye (male) is a German shepherd mix who weighs-in right around 45-50lbs. He is finding out more & more that men are ok. Any adult males in the home will need to be ever-so patient and loving with him. He will warm up on his own time; he just needs to know that he’s safe! When Kye gets excited, he spins in a circle. It is a cute, endearing, silly little quirk. He gets along with/plays very well with other dogs — small & large, young & old! His foster family has a 5 year old grandson who visits often, and Kye really enjoys him and his fun, playful energy; he likes to follow him around the yard and be his little buddy. He is learning all about how to play with toys, be a happy, carefree puppy, and just enjoy life! He walks nicely on-leash, goes willingly into his kennel without any reluctance or barking, and is completely potty-trained (with a bit of transition time in a new home to be expected, of course!). Kye is very intelligent (he can even unlatch kennel doors if he wants to), and learns so quickly. He is currently being housed at a foster’s boarding facility, and it breaks our hearts that he’s spent most of his life in a kennel… He deserves a home! Let’s find this boy the family + happily-ever-after he’s been searching for. Just ask for Kye!

**Kye’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip.
