All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Once Remy gets used to his surroundings he is a wonderful little lap dog. He loves his person. He loves to go for walks but does not like to have his harness put on or taken off . He sits and raises his left paw for treats. He prefers to sleep and eat in his crate and will jump right in. He is still very protective of his surroundings and definitely a guard dog, and does not like strangers.  I suspect he was not properly socialized as a puppy. He coexists with my small dog and my other foster dog which are both female. He would do best in a home with no small children or grandchildren. He is pee pad trained but will also go outside when given the opportunity.

This fearful boy was surrendered by his owner due to their own health issues.

Remy is fearful and protective. He doesn't like strangers, children, other dogs etc.

He is going to take some time to decompress and learn to trust.

His level of care prior to surrender is not known.  Suspect neglect
