My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Lily! My days are filled with tail wags and playful antics. I'm a pretty goofy gal, if I do say so myself. My friends here at the shelter say I'm sweet and friendly, too. I just love to make people smile! I have a knack for making friends, both human and canine. I'm looking for a family who will appreciate my sweetness and my goofiness. Someone who will laugh at my antics and give me lots of love. In return, I promise to be your loyal friend and bring joy to your life. So, how about it? Will you be my forever home?

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
