My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Silvia was brought in by her previous owner on August 17, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Silvia, an adorable girl looking for her new home! Having not had much socialization with people, she can be a bit fearful of new faces and places, so she'll thrive in a calm home with children over the age of 10. Silvia would love a furry companion to guide her-preferably a calm, social dog who can help her feel more secure. If you have another pup at home, please bring them along for a meet-and-greet to ensure they hit it off! She has made great strides in our care and absolutely adores her walks, especially with her doggy friends! An enclosed outdoor space for potty breaks is a must to help her transition into her new home. With patience and love, Silvia is ready to find her new home!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
