My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bean!

Bean came into care at our South Peace Branch as a stray at only 8 months old. Since being transferred to our branch through our Drive for Lives program in October, staff and volunteers have all fallen in love with this sweet playful girl! She may come off as shy at first, but as soon as you give her that first pet, she will melt against your hand and let out the biggest purr! This soft little lady that would do well in a home with another friendly kitty or on her own with a family to cuddle and play with her!

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease
