My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vickie is an incredibly affectionate and sweet-natured cat who will melt your heart with every purr. She loves snuggling up on the couch, curling up in your lap, or just following you around for attention and love. If you're looking for a loyal companion who thrives on cuddles, Vickie is your girl!
Vickie is a total lovebug who is friendly and energetic!

Vickie would do best in a calm, understanding home where her new family can help her continue her litter box training while also showering her with affection. In return, she'll fill your life with warmth, joy, and endless snuggles. Vickie will do best in a home where there is no other pets or kids so she can focus on settling in to her new house cat status.

If you're ready to open your heart and home to a cuddly companion who's on the path to being the perfect house cat, Vickie is waiting to meet you!

More about this shelter

Our Mission:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its 36 branches located around BC and its provincial office in Vancouver, the BC SPCA provides a wide range of services for more than 53,000 homeless, abused, and abandoned animals around the province. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in BC which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
